Let’s get this straight — my gumbo is amazing. Period. It’s packed with chicken, shrimp, crab, and beef sausage, slow-cooked with peppers, onions, and layers of flavor built with love, patience, and time. This isn’t just a dish — it’s a legacy.
Named after my mom, Martha Ann — or MathAnn to everybody else (but never me, okay? It was Mom) — this gumbo carries the tradition she poured into every pot. She made the best gumbo, hands down, and now that she’s gone, I’m carrying it forward with pride and purpose.
And while Dubai might not give you that Louisiana chill-in-the-air vibe, this gumbo still hits the soul the same — especially when served with a side of our buttered hot water cornbread and a scoop of fluffy rice.
